Mosque of Suleiman

The mosque is located on the hill of the medieval town. It is comprised of three square areas which are covered with domes and two consecutive porticos on the north side. Between the central and the western dome you can see the minaret which is 34,50 meters high. The monument was built in the 16th century, after the conquest of the city by Suleiman. The restoration of the monument was awarded by EUROPA NOSTRA in 2006.
