Decorative Arts Collection

The Decorative Arts Collection includes objects from the Ethnographic Collection of the Italians and the Folklore Archives of the Dodecanese. It also includes items from donations, excavations and confiscations of the Dodecanese Archaeological Service.

The collection includes traditional female costumes of Symi, Astypalea, Rhodes, Karpathos, Nisyros, Tilos and Halki, embroidery, woodwork, metalwork and pottery. Here you will also see examples of pottery from Nice (16th-19th century), dishes of Armenian houses in Kutahya, pitchers with humanoid or monstrous decorations, samples of local pottery from the villages of Rhodes, ceramics of European origin (19th and 20th century) and carved wooden objects.
