Jewish Museum of Rhodes

The Jewish Museum of Rhodes was founded in 1997. The founder of the Museum is Aron Hason, a lawyer from Los Angeles who has roots in Rhodes. In October 1997 at his own initiative and financing, the museum opened its doors as an exhibition of photographs. At the same time Hason founded the institute «Rhodes Historical Foundation», a nonprofit organization, and he started collecting photographs, historical material and objects from Rhodes and abroad as donations for the continuation of the purpose.

He also created a website in order to help those who are interested in the history of the Jews of Rhodes and those planning to travel to Rhodes. Gradually, with the involvement and financial contribution of the Community and individual donors, the museum grew bigger and it now houses many interesting exhibits.
