Prophet Elias Mount

The mount of Prophet Elias is seven hundred meters above sea level and takes its name from the monastery of Prophet Elias. When the Italians occupied the Dodecanese on May 5, 1912, the reconstruction of the island began. In the 1930s they founded Campo Ciaro village in Eleousa as well as the two spectacular hotels “Elafos" in 1929 and "Elafina" in 1932. The area of Prophet Elias was full of forests inhabited by thousands of deer.
